The Epilepsy Association of Western New York recently had the opportunity to connect with the broader epilepsy community at Epilepsy Awareness Day at Walt Disney World, a special gathering that brings together individuals and families affected by epilepsy, healthcare professionals, advocates, researchers, and epilepsy organizations from across the country.
Held at Walt Disney World Resort, the event combines education, advocacy, awareness, and community in a unique setting. Attendees have the opportunity to hear from leading epilepsy specialists, learn about advances in treatment and care, explore resources, and connect with others who understand the challenges of living with epilepsy.
For EAWNY, participating in an event of this scale provides an opportunity to share ideas, learn from organizations working in epilepsy communities across the country, and bring new information and perspectives back to Western New York. It also reinforces an important message: no one affected by epilepsy has to face it alone.
Building Connections. Sharing Knowledge. Creating Hope.
One of the most meaningful aspects of Epilepsy Awareness Day is the sense of community. Families and individuals living with epilepsy have the opportunity to connect with others who share their experiences, while organizations and professionals can build relationships and explore new ways to collaborate.
EAWNY’s participation reflects our commitment to staying connected with the national epilepsy community while continuing to strengthen the programs, education, advocacy, and support we provide here in Western New York.
From Buffalo to Walt Disney World, the goal remains the same: to raise awareness, provide support, expand knowledge, and improve the lives of people affected by epilepsy.
A Community Without Boundaries
Epilepsy affects millions of people, but the epilepsy community is powerful when it comes together. Events like Epilepsy Awareness Day demonstrate the importance of sharing experiences, supporting one another, and working collectively toward better treatment, greater understanding, and ultimately, a world free from the impact of epilepsy.
EAWNY is proud to be part of that larger community—and to bring what we learn back home to the individuals and families we serve throughout Western New York.
